Megabucks Hits at MGM Grand, Again, This Time for More Than $10 Million
A Vegas visitor from Florida is the latest instant millionaire thanks to a Megabucks slot machine at MGM Grand.
IGT, the slot manufacturer which oversees the interconnected (called “progressive”) machines, says the player, Mark Hodos, won $10,337,637.92 on Dec. 5, 2013. Check out a pic of the winning machine on the MGM Grand’s Facebook page.
Bonus Vegas connection: The lucky slot winner was Mark Hodos, from Lauderhill, Florida, a film producer. His latest project, “All American Christmas Carol,” is “a white-trash mom visited by three ghosts intent on showing her a path to a brighter future.” The movie co-stars none other than recent Planet Hollywood performer, Meat Loaf.
Here’s hoping his Megabucks jackpot will help Mark Hodos retire so he will no longer produce movies like “All American Christmas Carol.”
The latest Megabucks jackpot came quickly on the heels of another win in November, 2013, for $12.46 million, also at MGM Grand.
When Megabucks hits, the jackpot is set to $10 million.
The biggest Megabucks jackpot of all time happened Mar. 21, 2003. An anonymous, 23-year-old software engineer from L.A. snagged $39,710,826.36 at Excalibur.
