You don’t typically equate Wynn Las Vegas with something obscene, but check this out.

Get your mind out of the gutter. This is just a close-up of artwork currently on display in front of the Wynn Theater. The piece is called “Tulips,” and it was sold at a Christie’s auction in 2012 for $33.6 million.

The work is by popular artist Jeff Koons. The giant balloon tulips are made of high chromium stainless steel with a transparent color coating. We know this based upon our extensive knowledge of fine art, as well as having read it on a little placard thingy in front of the sculpture.

“Tulips” is close to seven feet tall and 16 feet across.

We love this playful, colorful work of over-sized art, and it’s free to view at Wynn Las Vegas. Up close, sort of dirty. From a distance, whimsical. There’s something for everyone in Las Vegas.
